This time last week we were getting ready to set up at the Walthamstow Garden Party as one of the proud sponsors of this year’s BringBackTheBeat dance tent.
With a stall right next to a lively dance floor it was an experience to remember. Everyone was in good spirits and the mood was infectious - a perfect place to launch Stow Inspired. We heard some great music played by local DJs and saw a lot of interesting dance moves.
Located in the Real Food Area, we were also surrounded by delicious food - which we ate quite a lot of.Around the park were amazing craft activities, live music and the William Morris flower garden was in full bloom, which was a real treat.
What else did we get up to?
In the blazing sunshine, we talked to lots of lovely people about what we are aiming to achieve
for those in Walthamstow, in particular, the many designers and producers in the area. We met some very talented people and spoke to many others who are as enthusiastic about the local area as we are. ver the two days we ran a painting competition in partnership with Forest Recycling Project. The ‘Stow Inspiration Wall’ was a chance for adults and children to express what inspires them most about the borough with paint. We had some excellent entries that helped build a wall of beautiful pictures - which made it hard for us to pick the winners.
We’d like to congratulate Noura, aged 10 and sisters Leia & Preia, aged 4 & 9 for winning the competition and fun packed Stow Inspired goodie bags. Thanks to everyone that took part.
We'd like to say a big thanks to local businesses Perky Blenders, Happy Little Folks and a local supplier for LuxShawl for supplying the additional gorgeous gifts for our goodie bags.
The canvases that were left on the Stow Inspired wall at the end of the event have now been taken to Forest Recycling Project, 2c Bakers Avenue (tucked behind The Hornbeam Café at 458 Hoe Street) Walthamstow, London E17 9AW for display; they can also be collected by those who painted them.
We also sold our new hot of the printing press Stow Inspired T-shirts which were designed, along with our branding, by Walthamstow based Elbow Creative.
Given the interest we had over the weekend and since we have now made them available to purchase on our site.
